Angela, much loved daughter of Joe and Ruth and sister to Simon lost her brave battle against Breast Cancer early in 2002. Since then the Ship Victory Pub has, through the Angela Gildea Memorial Fund, raised money for the Countess of Chester Hospital Breast Cancer Appeal.

Money is raised through events and quizes in the pub together with the famous annual "Turkey Trot" held at the roodee - Chester racecourse.
